The RN Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT) Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the MAT program for individuals with substance use disorders. This role requires a licensed nurse who will coordinate MAT services, provide direct patient care, and ensure the safe and effective administration of medications as part of a comprehensive treatment plan. The MAT Coordinator will work closely with healthcare providers, therapists, SUD (Substance Use Disorder) counselors, and case managers to support patients throughout their recovery journey.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the MAT program, including scheduling, patient assessments, and medication management.
- Provide patient education (e.g. risks and benefits of Suboxone or Vivitrol, symptoms/management/ withdrawal)
- Consult with MAT providers and behavioral health providers.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to MAT services and patient care.
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of clients to determine eligibility for MAT services, including medical history, substance use patterns, and co-occurring disorders.
- Develop and update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the care team, incorporating both medication and behavioral therapy components.
- Participates daily pin pre-visit planning and huddles.
- Enhances patient follow up and program adherence.
- Works collaboratively with staff and others individually and as part of a team to achieve optimal efficiency, outcomes, and morale.
- Assist with other clinic nursing duties as needed, as allowed under the Scope of Practice.
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited California School of Professional Nursing.
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in substance use disorder treatment or MAT services.
- Ability to maintain client confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Flexibility to work extended hours as needed
- Strong clinical skills in medication management and patient assessment, particularly related to substance use disorders.
- Knowledge of MAT protocols and pharmacology, with experience in administering and monitoring medications such as buprenorphine and methadone.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and documentation.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (may be required at some clinics).
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Provider
- Certification in Addiction Nursing (CARN) or equivalent, or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.

If you are hired at TrueCare, your final base salary (within the pay range), will be determined based on factors such as education, knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members when determining any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
