The Shipping and Receiving Courier is responsible for receiving, driving, delivering, picking, packing, loading, unloading, and preparing products to TrueCare and non-TrueCare locations while maintaining the warehouse and department vehicle in a safe and orderly fashion. The Shipping and Receiving Courier is also responsible for receiving incoming shipments, validating accuracy of shipments against purchase orders, and performing a variety of warehouse inventory tasks.

Responsibilities: 

  • Load and unload incoming and outgoing supply shipments to and from delivery trucks and boxes.
  • Receive, check in, package, and label items in preparation for delivery.
  • Verify accuracy of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities received against purchase orders, packing slips, and other pertinent documentation.
  • Access purchasing and inventory systems to perform duties such as verifying, stocking, order picking, shifting, reconciling, printing, cycle counting, electronic receiving, and other various tasks.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing products for damage or discrepancies and report them to the appropriate staff, as needed.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks, hand truck dollies, and step ladders.
  • Prepare outgoing shipping labels for delivery services such as FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.
  • Acquire signatures from recipients upon delivery or take pictures of delivered packages when assigned and keep for record purposes, as needed.
  • Drive, pick-up, and deliver designated items and materials to and from TrueCare locations including, but not limited to, interoffice mail, postal mail, office supplies, clinical supplies, paychecks, cash deposits, patient records, furniture, equipment, vaccine pharmaceuticals, and other materials.
  • Plan and follow the scheduled delivery routes but be prepared for emergency deliveries and deliveries to non-TrueCare locations, as requested.
  • Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
  • Prepare pharmacy cooler for transport and ensure compliance with temperature requirements based on Department of Health regulations as well as all appropriate safety and/or infection control policies and procedures.
  • Deliver cash deposits to the bank and pick up change requests, as needed.
  • Ensure that sensitive and/or confidential materials and documents are safely and securely transported to their proper location, including Patient Health Information (PHI) within current Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) guidelines.
  • Routinely inspect the Courier van to ensure that all parts of the vehicle are in proper working condition, gas levels are adequate and are clean both inside and out.  
  • Take assigned vehicle to mechanic or car wash for service.
  • Prepare and maintain vehicle service log and report any required vehicle service to the Purchasing Manager.
  • Maintain records of site location deposit bags; ensure all monetary deposits are secured during transport.
  • Report site location requests to supervisor, determine the level of urgency, and execute when time permits.
  • Perform administrative duties such as printing, copying, filing documents, warehouse cleaning, mail sorting, labeling, submitting invoices, and maintaining records related to the position.
  • Request transportation and warehouse supplies as needed.
  • Attend workshops and/or participate in training to remain aware of current trends, advancements, best practices in safe driving, and the safe handling of deliveries.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one year experience in shipping and receiving, inventory, or warehouse related work.
  • Knowledge of light equipment operation and/or maintenance.
  • Clean driving record
  • Computer proficiency with software applications and Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Will be required to travel between TrueCare locations therefore California Driver’s License, proof of valid insurance and clean driving record required.

The pay range for this role is $21 - $29 on an hourly basis.

If you are hired at TrueCare, your final base salary (within the pay range), will be determined based on factors such as education, knowledge, skills, and experience. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer generous benefits and retirement plans.
