The Pharmacy Technician III (CPhT) is responsible for assisting pharmacists with follow up for chronic diseases. The Pharmacy Technician III will process refill requests that are tasked to central pharmacy by fax, phone or pool. This position is responsible for submitting prior authorizations to insurance carriers and answering patient/outside pharmacy calls. This includes responding to all WELL app requests.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited program for Pharmacy Technicians.
- At least two (2) years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Demonstrated experience with refill prescription standing protocols and medication prior authorizations.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, generic drug names, and pharmaceutical calculations.
- Computer proficiency with pharmacy, Practice Management and Electronic Health Record systems, and the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Current California Pharmacy Technician License issued by the California Board of Pharmacy
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers
- National Certification with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
- Ability to work a six month temporary assignment covering for a medical leave.
The pay range for this role is $27.38 – 39.70 on an hourly basis
