The Director of IT Operations is responsible for overseeing the operations and uptime of all systems and applications within the Information Systems (IS) Department. This includes serving as the technical expert on systems administration in a large complex computing environment, as well as management of IT systems staff, the support services they provide to internal customers, and the delivery of projects as identified by the VP, Information Technology.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day administration of the organization’s IT systems infrastructure, including proactive monitoring of all servers, applications, and services using a combination of tools to ensure high availability and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Manage the lifecycle of cloud-enabled applications—from implementation to retirement.
- Oversee the Azure and M365 platforms, including availability, license management, and cost optimization.
- Coordinate with the Cybersecurity team to enforce patch management policies and schedules.
- Develops, analyzes, and makes recommendations for implementation on issues relating to systems, applications, and disaster recovery to include hardware and software.
- Oversee the Network Administrator in the management of WANs, LANs, VPNs, & Wi-Fi.
- Benchmark and make recommendations for improvement of the IT infrastructure and systems.
- Lead internal systems improvement processes to include audits, project plans, and timelines.
- Implement changes using documented procedures that are compliant with the department’s policies and procedures.
- Assists the Project Manager assigned to medium to complex projects, working to ensure timely task completion.
- Establishes or recommends policies and procedures for system use and services.
- Ensures maintenance schedules and license agreements are managed to TrueCare policy.
- Manages vendor relationships to ensure installed systems are performing properly.
- Ensure backup operations and disaster recovery procedures are effective and regularly tested.
- Tracks and reports all intentional and unintentional service outages. Manage various internal IT Department-related projects as required/assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, information systems or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience.
- At least ten (10) years in IT operations experience, with at least seven (7) years in a management/leadership role.
- Working knowledge of VoIP, LAN/WAN, Citrix, Windows, and VMware based programs.
- Computer proficiency, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with managing cloud platforms, such as Azure / AWS and M365.
Desired Qualifications:
- Understanding of HIPAA Privacy and Security Rule and the HITECH Act.
- Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center or healthcare environment.
- ITIL Certification.

If you are hired at TrueCare, your final base salary (within the pay range), will be determined based on factors such as education, knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members when determining any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
