Your Role & Impact
The Accounting Specialist is under general supervision, performs varied and increasingly responsible accounting work involved in the keeping and analysis of daily financial records and processing documents involving financial transactions; performs related duties as required.
- Receive, sort and distribute incoming/outgoing department communications and documents.
- Order, receive, and maintain inventory of department office supplies.
- Gather, assemble, tabulate, proof, extend, balance, summarize, and enter fiscal and related data.
- Code data according to prescribed accounting procedures and enter accounts payable as needed.
- Prepare daily deposits and reconciles to clinic reporting.
- Maintain accounts receivable; code and enter receipts into ERP system.
- Prepare bank reconciliations.
- Record journal entries.
- Analyze financial data for accuracy and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Prepare reports and worksheets as requested.
- Assist with preparation of the annual budget.
- Assists non-departmental staff with finance policies and procedures.
- Assist payroll specialists with timekeeping review & reports as needed.
- Ability to write memos and reports clearly and concisely and perform basic mathematical calculations. Analytical and organizational skills. Ability to organize work, set priorities to meet deadlines, and work within the constraints of government-funded programs. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of all ages and social and ethnic backgrounds, including patients, medical staff, co-workers and the public. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Effective verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
- Qualifications Required:
- High school diploma or the equivalent.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in fiscal recordkeeping.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of programs, including Word and Excel.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- An Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting or a related field.
- Accounts payable experience.

The pay range for this role is $25.30 to $35.42 per hour. We compensate based on applicable experience related to the role.
