The Limited X-Ray Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic x-rays within their licensure for patients of all ages using fixed imaging equipment. Demonstrates and applies knowledge of principles of radiation safety. Prepares and positions patient for procedure by using established protocols to achieve the highest quality image. Enters complex data into the computer system. Reviews, verifies and evaluates images to ensure technical and image quality. Demonstrates effective communication and conflict resolution techniques with patients, coworkers, physicians and all other health care members. The technician is also responsible for maintaining x-ray equipment and cleaning the parts of the machines which come into close contact with patients.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Answer telephone in a courteous and helpful manner, providing requested information, or referring the call to the appropriate source.
- Responsible to check in patients, verify identification, and collect fees, issue receipts and post payments according to protocols.
- Review, verify, and explain the process to patient prior to procedure.
- Perform image procedures within scope of license; achieve high level of image quality using correct anatomical markers, while upholding TrueCare patient service quality standards
- Perform visual inspection of image for exposure factors (contrast, density, etc.) to ensure technical quality of digital image.
- Assist another Technologist as needed.
- Enter data and procedures data into RIS for supervisory Radiologist to read.
- Accurately enter billing procedures; document the performance, or outcomes of all procedures performed into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Clean patient rooms and imaging equipment appropriately between visits to ensure a safe, hygienic environment and maintain proper equipment function.
- Establish or enforce standards for protection of patients or personnel.
- Monitor procedures to ensure adequate quality control of images.
- Daily prepare and respond to correspondence, QA Notes and inquiry statuses.
- Will be required to report any non-operable equipment and maintenance needs of imaging equipment to your supervisor.
- Make copy of images as requested.
- Complete and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
- Inventory and request supplies, as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of accredited program for X-Ray technicians.
- Minimum one (1) year experience in an x-ray department.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing procedures.
- Computer proficiency with web based applications and the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
Desired Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in radiologic technology.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Six (6) months experience with documentation in an EHR system.
- Medical Assistant Certificate.

If you are hired at TrueCare, your final base salary (within the pay range), will be determined based on factors such as education, knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members when determining any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
